Templates that work.
High-performing designs crafted to engage users and drive action.
THE CHALLENGE
PicMonkey and Shutterstock needed a scalable system to create and deliver a large library of professional templates for users across marketing, business, and personal creative projects.
The goal was to accelerate engagement by offering ready-to-use, high-quality templates that showcased the creative tools and aligned with evolving brand and product strategies.

MY ROLE
As Principal Product Designer, I managed an external creative team of five content designers through Aquent.
I provided weekly design briefs, daily creative direction, and hands-on quality reviews to ensure templates met brand standards, design best practices, and user needs across both platforms.
APPROACH + EXECUTION
To build a consistent, high-quality template library at speed without compromising quality, I developed a structured briefing system that included visual references, use case prioritization, and creative constraints aligned to product features.
Daily standups, asynchronous reviews, and frequent team check-ins allowed us to maintain a fast pace while staying tightly aligned on content strategy and visual execution.
I also collaborated closely with Product, Marketing, and UX teams to ensure templates supported major product initiatives and seasonal campaigns.
IMPACT
Over the course of a year, our team designed and launched over 20,000 user-facing templates, significantly expanding creative offerings within the PicMonkey and Shutterstock ecosystems.
The templates helped drive user activation, increased engagement with design tools, and strengthened the platforms’ positions as accessible, everyday creative solutions.
Every design started with the same goal: make creativity easier, faster, and more fun.
