Halo 3: Building a Legendary Identity. Designing for a universe bigger than life.
DESIGN BEYOND THE CONSOLE
As Brand Designer during the Halo 3 launch cycle, I helped extend Halo’s visual identity beyond the game into an ecosystem of merchandise, publishing, collectibles, and promotional experiences.
I designed and produced the official Halo 3 Product Style Guide, establishing visual standards that licensing partners used to create products ranging from action figures and apparel to Xbox accessories and printed materials.
I also collaborated with partners to maintain color accuracy, preserve brand consistency, and ensure every touchpoint felt unmistakably Halo.
It was my first experience designing for a global entertainment property and an early lesson in how systems, storytelling, and fandom converge at scale.

CREATING A VISUAL SYSTEM FOR AN EXPANDING UNIVERSE
BUILDING THE SOURCE OF TRUTH
I designed the official Halo 3 Product Style Guide, a comprehensive reference that translated Halo’s visual language into practical guidance for licensing and publishing partners.
The guide documented logos, typography, textures, color systems, imagery, and usage principles, creating a shared foundation that allowed teams to build new experiences while remaining unmistakably Halo.
SUPPORTING PARTNERS THROUGH DESIGN STEWARDSHIP
PROTECTING THE HALO UNIVERSE
The work didn’t end with documentation. I collaborated with licensing partners and manufacturers, reviewing products in development and providing creative direction to help maintain the integrity of the Halo brand.
These color guides translated digital assets into production-ready specifications, documenting materials, finishes, and Pantone references that helped partners faithfully reproduce Halo characters, vehicles, and weapons across collectibles and merchandise.
DESIGNING PHYSICAL ARTIFACTS FOR FANS
TRANSLATING ATMOSPHERE
INTO ARTIFACTS
Beyond systems work, I designed packaging and promotional pieces that translated Halo’s visual language into physical artifacts for fans.
Drawing from concept art, in-game imagery, and the established design system, these pieces were designed to feel cinematic, immersive, and deeply connected to the Halo universe.
DESIGNING SYSTEMS THAT SCALE
Halo 3 showed me that successful brands are built on more than logos and assets. They depend on systems that other people can understand, trust, and extend with confidence.
That lesson continues to influence how I approach design today: create clarity, protect the experience, and build frameworks that allow great ideas to scale.
